About this fund
This Fund raises additional funds for local emergency relief and material aid providers. The Melbourne Magistrates Court provides base funding, with other local people chipping in.
Across the North, there are people lining up to get food, basic household supplies, and other material aid. Cost of living pressures means increased need, while donations decrease. We know people are generous and want to help, and a regular gift to this fund means that people are being supported.
How it works:
- Any funds raised are granted quarterly (September, December March and June)
- Local emergency relief and material aid providers can register their interest for a grant
- Eligible emergency relief providers can register for this non-competitive granting process. Once registered, and based on fund availability, every quarter, one or several organisations will be selected at random for a grant of between $1,000 – $1,500. The process repeats each quarter, with a view to equitably provide grants into the LGA’s of Darebin, Merri-bek and Yarra. See our Current Grants page for more detail.
